Alright this is another reason why I am not really into pet sitting other people’s animals. I went to let the dog out over at my dad’s house and walk in the door and the front room looks like a damn feeding ground for dog fecies. Guess who had to clean it up. Yuck!! I obviously waited way to long to get over there and let him out. As I was picking it up I am gagging and having mini puke come in my mouth. I just can’t handle the smell of dog poop.
Well I had to make a trip over to my dad’s to let the dog out and make sure all of his pets have food. My dad’s wife recently died less than 6 months ago. I hate that my dad lives alone, he is very lonely and stubborn. He has 4 animals, which include a chocolate lab, a cat and two birds. I am not a real big animal person; partly due to my allergies. I have suffered from animal allergies all of my life. I do have a dog and have to take allergy medicine on a daily basis. My kids wanted the dog and I did give in; my allergies are not life threatening so I figured I would not deprive them of growing up with a dog.
The weather is cold and dreary and of course there is no sunshine because I live in Ohio and it that would seem like a sin. I started out with my normal little daily routine, took my son to school because he still refuses to ride the big yellow school bus to school. I came home, cleaned like I have not cleaned in a couple of weeks but our trickor-treat night is coming up on thursday night and it is annually at my house each year so unfortunately that means I had to get off my lazy ass and start trying trying to locate my floor in my dining room; not to mention trying to find the table. I am looking forward to a full day, my daughter has her fall concert choir tonight; don’t tell her but I am really not looking forward to having to go to the school and fake smile to all the people that I really don’t know. My dad is back in the hospital, we are unsure at this point was is going on with him. He recently just finished his last round of chemo-therapy from colon cancer. I have to watch his house for him and I don’t mind other than I have severe allergies to cats and a less of an allergy to dogs and my dad’s house is like a zoo.
This is a time for making long-range plans, seeing the big picture, and thinking about what is really important to you in the long run. The trivial details and business of day-to-day living does not dominate your attention now. This is also an excellent time for business functions, negotiations, and communication.
